Updates from the Wisp team, newest first.

Windows client testing is underway

Windows client testing is underway—another major milestone for Wisp. Updates and testing continue across our other platforms as we move toward closed beta.

Sign up for the closed beta for your chance to receive a free dedicated server for you and your friends during beta testing, and lock in a reduced beta-tester price if you choose a managed server after the beta.

Android testing is underway

Android testing is underway—our first platform expansion is a major milestone for Wisp. Our early Android builds bring the same end-to-end encrypted messaging and file sharing to your phone, alongside voice, reactions, camera, and screen sharing. We’re testing how desktop and mobile work together, including notification timing, switching voice between devices, and restoring your account securely.

On desktop, recent updates add replies, forwarding, pins, reactions, and clearer unread indicators. Accounts now work independently of servers, with friend requests, private conversations, and simpler invitation links. Encrypted account backups and verified recovery emails also make setup and recovery easier.

Next, we’re expanding Android testing across more phones and networks, alongside preparation for Windows support and the closed beta.

Moving toward closed beta

Wisp is moving toward closed beta. Our Linux build already brings together encrypted messaging, voice, camera and screen sharing in a customizable, tiled workspace.

Recent work has focused on everyday usability: clearer room navigation, individual volume and mute controls, easier access to settings, and flexible chat tiles. We’re also refining audio processing, connection reliability, and updates.

Before opening the beta, our priorities include a Windows build, smoother setup, and broader testing across devices and networks. The goal is simple: a private place to talk and hang out that feels comfortable from the first launch.
